eKYC using Hyperledger Fabric‑based Blockchain Network (with Account Aggregator)

A permissioned blockchain‑based eKYC system built using Hyperledger Fabric to ensure secure, tamper‑proof, and decentralized identity verification across the Account Aggregator (AA) ecosystem.

Details of the project:

This project involved building a secure, decentralized, and permissioned blockchain network using Hyperledger Fabric to modernize the eKYC process across financial institutions within the AA framework. The objective was to create a system where consent flows are managed through smart contracts, ensuring immutability, privacy, and full auditability.

A complete multi‑organization Fabric network was set up, including Orderer nodes, Peer nodes, Certificate Authorities (CA), MSP structures, Channels, CouchDB state database, Docker‑based infrastructure, and RAFT consensus.

During development, Hyperledger Explorer and CouchDB were used for block‑level visibility, transaction tracing, and network monitoring. The eKYC flow implemented on the blockchain demonstrates secure consent creation, verification request handling, approval workflows, and immutable ledger updates that benefit both customers and financial institutions.

Technology Used:

  • Hyperledger Fabric 2.x (Permissioned Blockchain Framework)

  • Docker & Docker Compose (Containerized Deployment)

  • RAFT Consensus Mechanism (Ordering Service)

  • CouchDB (State Database)

  • Chaincode / Smart Contracts (Java)

  • Fabric CA & Cryptogen for MSP and Certificates

  • Hyperledger Explorer (Network Monitoring & Visualization)
